cut these stressors out of your life now

Some stress just can’t be ignored or avoided no matter how hard we two but you may be surprised by the number of stressors in your life that you can eliminate!

cut down your to do list

Let’s face it we all have a never-ending list of things we need, want or think we should be doing. But are hey all really necessary? Adding value? Or giving us what we want out of life?

Take a look at your list and re-asses if they are adding value or just wasting your time and energy? With what’s left prioritise your tasks and put them in the level of urgency.

cut down on time

Limit the amount of time you spend with people who stress you out and take control of the situation. Simples.

cut out trying to be perfect

Trying to be a perfectionist creates huge levels of stress for you and maybe even the people around you. Do you need to adjust your expectations and accept that there is often no such thing as ‘perfect’ so you’re just setting yourself up to fail. What if by something being ‘good enough’ you can still feel proud, achieve and grow. Maybe you’ll even be able to achieve more in a shorter amount of time – just throwing it out there!

cut saying yes all the time

Learn how to say no – both professionally and personally. Not every opportunity work wise is a good one, make sure the energy you’d be putting in is giving you the results you want. If it isn’t, is it worth it? In your personal relationships this can be especially hard to do if you are a people pleaser, the go to helper for people around you or you have poor boundaries but I promise you will thank yourself for it in the long run! You should never take on more than you can handle this  is a definite recipe for stress.

cut it out

The main stress management techniques teach you how to take control of the situation so that you can better manage it. So can you change the situation that is stressing you? When you’re trying to cope with stress it can be helpful to take a step back and figure out if you can alter the situation, literally change it or cut it out or if you can’t can you find a way to change your reaction to it so that you find a little more ease.

cut out pretending

Would it help to make your feelings known to those around you about what or why you’re levels of stress feel overwhelming right now? Is your stress building because you are bottling feelings up or pretending to feel something that you don’t?

Could you find a  honest but respectful way to communicate any concerns you might have to that resentment doesn’t build up?

cut out being passive

Are you being too passive and easy going in areas where you need to be more assertive and in control? Don’t take a backseat when it comes to your life.

cut the drama

Ok first of all I am completely guilty of doing this all of time. This is one of those do as I say not as I do moments and I’m talking to myself right now. But cut the drama and look at the bigger picture of the situation to get perspective. Ask yourself, in the grand scheme of things how important is this problem? Will you remember it in a week or a month? And if you don’t finish whatever it is that you’re trying to do or meet that deadline you’ve set for yourself is it really the end of the world?
